Always informed, where the ship is
Inform yourself about the latest position report, the average speed or the heading of the ships. Purplefinder is an e-fleet management tool and locate ships. Use of the US Global Positioning System (GPS) gives accurate and reliable positional, speed and bearing information.
Functionality
Left Click on the map
Display the latest position report
- Date and Time of tracking
- Position Report
- Speed
- Average Speed
- Heading
- Proximity
Right click on the map
Display the PurpleFinder pop-up menu
- ShowInformation: Select to display the latest PR detail (same as mouseleft-click on map)
- Show/ Hide names: Select/toggle toshow/hide asset names (when in Fleet Map)
- Show History: Select to view the Journey Map (when in Fleet Map) - Select the history of anyasset from the entire fleet listing.
- On mouse click: Select/toggle between Show Information (Position report pop-up by the asset),Accumulate Distance (Calculate distance from point to point), Show Position(lat/long will be displayed in the comments box of theconsole)
- World map: Select to zoom out to the PurpleFinderBrowser world map (when in Journey Map).
- Pan here: Select tocentre map at the point of the last map position click. It allows the user toeasily migrate around the immediate map areas surrounding the PurpleFinderBrowser.
- Home In: The Home function centres the Map on thelast Position Report of the closest vessel to the mouse click. On selection themap will zoom in four-fold to show the detailed position of that vessel in it´senvironment.
- Map Style: To implement this function, usersmust be in the World View to toggle between the Sea map/Land maps.
- Meterological parameter: Data Souce: Norwegian MeteorologicalInstitute. Data is updated once a day. Data available: Wind speed & direction, atmospheric pressure, Wave direction, Wave period, mean period of wind waves, direction of swell waves, significant height of swell waves (above sea level), mean period of swell waves, primary wave direction and primary wave mean period.
- Meteorological table: Display data in a separate window in either: 1) an MS Excelspreadsheet, 2) tab-separated-values or 3) HTML web page.
- Storm table: Shows all current Storms over all ocean regions.
Zoom-Function
Left click on the map and drag to create a rubber rectangle around the areayou want to zoom in on. The initial point from where you create the box will becentral to the zoomed area. Once you have selected the area, the zoom willoccur automatically.
Back and Forward Buttons
Similar tothe buttons on your internet browser, the Back & Forward buttons will takeyou through the steps taken during that session.
