The ship
The MV »Cape Melville«" is a highly modern 2,700 TEU (twenty feet equivalent unit) newly built full container ship of the Sub-Panamax category, which is being built in line with the requirements and under the building supervision of Germanischer Lloyd at the Aker Ostsee GmbH in Wismar, Germany.
Electrical sockets for 400 reefer containers are available and the 21,770 kW strong MAN-B&W main machine has a power reserve which is capable of a service speed of 22 knots (approx. 41 km/hr).
Partner and employment
Dockyard is Aker Ostsee GmbH in Wismar, Germany. The delivery of the ship from the shipyard is planned for the 9th June 2005.
Charterer: For the first 5 years the ship is chartered to Cosco Container Lines Ltd., Shanghai, a 100% subsidiary of the China Ocean Shipping Company. The Cosco group is a large conglomerate, having international shipping as its core business.
Pool: The ship will start the newly established "Hanse 2- 3000TEU Containership-Pool", managed by Hanse Bereederung, Hamburg.
The Shipmanagement will be provided by Columbia Shipmanagement Ltd., Limassol/Cyprus. Columbia Shipmanagement Limited ranks in terms of the number of ships managed, as one of the world's top shipmanagement companies.

Agreement modality
Investors can take part directly in the MS »Cape Melville« Containerschiff GmbH & Co. KG. A participation is possible as standard limited partner or as preferred limited partner. Commercial income is obtained.
