The reduced Chinese demand of iron ore sent freight rates further down in the first week of November, to 22.000 US-Dollar average, the second week has been good for owners with the capesize rates rising strongly to 28.000 US-Dollar.

The markets eased gently towards end September and the Baltic Cape Index ended with 25.000 US-Dollar on 25th November.

And in the last week of November the market increased due to strong trading in the Pacific and lack of tonnage in the Atlantic.
The month closed at 29.000 US-Dollar average.

World Steel Association reported a crude steel production of 124 million tons in October 2011 which is 6.2 percent higher than October 2010.
